We offer a Mentorship Program to support
your preparation for Qingdao Exhibition

To support your preparation for the Qingdao Exhibition, we are offering a Mentorship Program that includes:


•⁠  ⁠3-5 personalized Live Zoom sessions with Prof. Hua.
•⁠  ⁠Initial small group online workshops followed by personalized sessions as you advanced further on your entry painting. 
•⁠  ⁠Each student is required to produce 3 preliminary paintings in smaller size (complete paintings, not sketches).
•⁠  ⁠Prof Hua will help select one or two with the most potential and help work on your final piece step-by-step.
•⁠  ⁠Customized guidance tailored to your unique artistic style and development.
•⁠  ⁠Prof Hua will give painting demonstrations per each student’s work if deemed necessary. 
•⁠  ⁠All sessions will be provided with full translation by Phoebe.
•⁠  ⁠WeChat group support
•⁠  ⁠Unlimited Q&A and Wechat sharing 
•⁠  ⁠⁠Registration process 

  • Entry fee is 50 euros (not included)

The mentorship program is an integral part of our Plein air Retreat (included in the overall package price).

If you decide not to go to China but would like to receive professional and personalized guidance, the original mentorship fee is $595 USD

⚠️ Note: Due to the high standards of the Qingdao Art Fest, the organizer reserves the right to decline works that do not meet the required threshold. This mentorship aims to ensure your artwork not only qualifies but also stands out.

📌 Options:
1.⁠ ⁠Participate in the mentorship to enhance your skills and ensure exhibition readiness.
2.⁠ ⁠Work independently if you prefer self-guided preparation.
3.⁠ ⁠Submit your entry painting without attending the art festival in Qingdao. Please note that we will give priorities to PE students partaking in the China Art Expedition due to the limited exhibition slots granted by the organizer. You are welcome to submit your entry with our school.

4. Deadline to submit the digital image of your entry painting is Jun 18, 2025.

5. You can also submit independently to the event organizer before May 30, 2025

Open Call: Artists Can Apply for the Jade Palette: China Art Expedition 2025 Until May 30

 

Watercolor artists from around the world are invited to submit their work for the Jade Palette: China Art Expedition. Taking place in Qingdao/ Beijing, China, this art expedition aims to highlight outstanding contemporary watercolor art on an international stage.

The call is open to both emerging and established artists. Selected participants will have the opportunity to showcase their work alongside international peers and gain exposure within the global watercolor community.

  • May 30, 2025 -Independent applicants

  • Jun 18, 2025 - If it's through Palette Exchange after the preliminary approval.
